A Holistic Approach to Living and Thriving with Autism
Every family’s journey with autism is different—and so should the support be.
That’s why my approach is completely holistic: positive, natural, and rooted in the real lives of the people I work with. It’s shaped by years of lived experience, professional study, and most of all—by love. Love for my daughter, Farrah, who inspired this path from the day she was diagnosed in 1998. Love for my son whom I’d intended would be a life long sibling he could interact, play with and be his friend and confidant. And love for the families I now work with, who are ready to move from simply coping to truly living.
What Does “Holistic” Mean in Practice?
It means there’s no one-size-fits-all solution.
It means we don’t just focus on one method, one therapist, or one “fix.” Instead, we explore what works for your child, your family, your values—and build from there.
A holistic autism approach considers not only communication, behaviour, and learning styles, but also well-being, sensory needs, family dynamics, and emotional balance. It integrates neurodevelopment with structured, evidence-based strategies like TEACCH, PECS, Makaton, and Portage, with mindfulness, coaching, nutrition, natural complimentary and anthroposophical remedies, and somatic and energy-based therapies. The result is a bespoke, gentle, yet powerful plan of support that starts where you are at right now and evolves with you over time.
Rooted in Evidence, Grounded in Experience
At the time of writing, I’ve been studying and applying autism interventions for almost three decades —long before some of them became mainstream.
Back when my daughter was diagnosed, I explored everything available: LOVAAS, Son-Rise, Hanen, and more. Some methods didn’t feel right for our family—but that didn’t mean the learning went to waste. We adapted what we could, turning clinical strategies into natural parts of our everyday life. Makaton became a family language. Visual calendars and sensory play were woven into daily routines. Natural reinforcers, laughter, music, cuddles—these became our tools for family wellbeing and growth. Our Faith and spiritual beliefs were the foundation in which we rooted ourselves and from where signs and resources came forth.
This blend of Faith, Science and Heart is at the core of how I now support others. When you work with me, you’re drawing on a lifetime of experience —mine, and yours and the powers beyond that be.
Working With the Whole Family
Autism never exists in isolation. It affects the whole family, and so my support extends to everyone.
Together, we create a nurturing environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and supported—siblings, parents, carers, grandparents, teachers, even employers. Whether you need help navigating education systems, improving communication, managing behaviours, or understanding your child’s sensory world, I work with you to develop realistic, compassionate strategies that work in your real life.
This means you’ll learn skills and approaches that empower you—not overwhelm you. We go at your pace, focusing on consistency, well-being, and collaboration.

Progress Takes Many Forms
Academics are considered important to achieve in this world—but they aren’t the only measure of progress and achievement. Nor are they the only avenue to living a fulfilled and successful life. This a subjective perspective.
When my daughter was young, we focused first on learning to communicate in a way that engaged her, encouraging social interaction, music and play with rhythm and reducing sensory overwhelm. The academic learning followed more naturally once those foundations were in place at home and at school. Education can be started at any time in life at all levels. It’s not a race or a competition.
Today, Farrah has achieved GCSEs, A Levels, a Foundation Diploma, and a BA Hons in Textiles. She’s also earned awards for her achievements—including the Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award presented at St. James Palace. A National Citizen’s Award. She is a Freestyle Disco and Street dancer. A black belt in Tae Kwon Do and she has been a member of Team GB Trampolining Squad.
But more importantly, she’s confident, creative, and able to live life with joy, self-expression, and independence.
And it didn’t happen through intensive 40-hour therapy weeks. This didn’t fit with our family. It happened through steady, tailored, natural approaches grounded in respect and understanding—and a lot of love, Faith, belief in any thing is possible, her determination and teamwork with likeminded professionals.
It’s Never Too Late
Whether your child is three, thirteen, or thirty—this journey is still unfolding. And no matter where you are on the path, it is never too late to make meaningful progress. I’ve worked with toddlers, teens, adults, and families at every stage. With the right support, new skills and strengths can emerge and even excel at any age. Just like anyone working on their personal development. The brain rewires and reconnects, memories held in the body release, development is on a continual pathway and progress can be made with a holistic approach.
What matters most is this: you don’t have to do it alone.
Together, we can explore your options, rediscover your confidence, and help your family thrive.
You Matter, Too
Parents and carers of children with autism face some of the highest levels of long-term stress and health challenges. That’s why an integral part of my work includes supporting your well-being.
Because you matter.
Because when you’re rested, supported, and nurtured, your whole family benefits.
Whether it’s through mindfulness, pampering self-care, or simply having someone to talk to who gets it—I’ll remind you to take care of yourself as much as you care for others. In fact I will encourage you to look after yourself first – remembering to put on your life jacket first. I will show you simple ways you can do this.
using a holistic, person/family-centred approach of interventions, therapies and treatments in the natural environment with parent/carer participation, is the most effective, least stressful and least demanding on family time and finances and produces longer term positive gains than the more intensive interventions used periodically in specific, clinical environments solely provided by an intervention practitioner or therapist. (Howlin, P. 1998; Cassidy et al., 2008; Reed & Osborne, 2012).
